The heat has arrived....

The hotel room that we spent the night at last night was probably one of the best any of us had ever slept in. The green grass was soft as we lay under the stars that shone brightly over us while we breathed the spring aroma from the blooming trees. The possum that jumped out of the way as we parked in the little clearing was the source of many jokes as we bedded down for the night. Right now we’re sitting at a gas station feeling rested and rejuvenated on the outskirts of Okalahoma City. Spirits continue to soar within the group as we look forward to arriving in Seminole later today. Yesterday evening after a few of us went swimming in a random river Lyndon shared an inspirational challenge and encouragement. He encouraged us in the way he has seen this group gel together and stand up as men through some of the adventures we’ve had already. His word was a blessing to each of us and we feel so privileged to have Lyndon along as he has become a solid pillar of this trip.

Please pray for us as we arrive in Seminole. Pray that the first impressions we give this community will be positive and God glorifying. We don’t have time to build rapport or history therefore first impressions are very important. It’s also a different culture down here, pray that we’ll fit in and understand the aspects needed in order to present the gospel in a way that is culturally relevant. We’re depending on the Holy Spirit to speak and change hearts, but we know first hand the value of contextualization. Thanks for your constant support and prayers.

So here we are in Kansas City, Missouri in IHOP (International House of Prayer).  The drive throughout the night was successful and smooth with only minor van problems.  Getting lost finding a grocery store in Omaha Nebraska is also a specialty of the guys.  We have made good time up to till point.  Pray that the remaining section of the trip might also go as smoothly as our travel thus far.  The guys are all tired but eager to get to Texas.  We plan on being in Texas sometime Wednesday morning.  Until next time!!!

We're Rolling!!!

The day has finally arrived, the waiting is over. The excitement and anticipation that we all felt grew to extreme proportions over the past couple days. In each of our minds, a constant countdown clock slowly counted down to this exciting adventure. Yesterday as I stood on the stage to receive my SBC graduation certificate, I spotted some of the trip members in the crowd and couldn’t help but smiling, I felt that the best was still yet to come!! Now as I write, we’re wiping along interstate I-29 praising God at the smooth boarder crossing into the United States of America. Nothing really of mention happened at the border except for Herman getting pulled into the “little room”. We asked him what took place in the room and he responded that he did not want to talk about it. Whatever the case, it only took us about 20 minutes to get through and for that we praise God. We’re enjoying the smooth sailing and the thrill of the unknown. Please pray for our safety as we travel through the night.

Excitement Spilling Over....

We have been attending Steinbach Bible College for the past 8 months where we've had some amazing experiences. Now as the school year is coming to a close and we reflect on our time at SBC this past year, we're realizing it has been a year full of learning about God and we've experienced a strengthening of our faith. The learning that has taken place in the classroom has caused the words of the Bible to jump off the page and literally become as the scripture says, alive! The experiences in this community will stay with us for a long time. It was in this community that this dream to drive through Texas to Belize was first hatched.

We, as a group, are excited to reveal a 7000 mile road trip crossing three countries during the first two weeks of May. The twelve of us from Steinbach Bible College have chosen to participate in this drive to inspire. The vision of this trip is to travel to several communities in order to encourage and inspire brothers and sisters that we come into contact with. We have been preparing songs, skits, and testimonies of God's work in our own lives. So we are excited to tell the stories of some of the things that God has been doing in us. We are also excited to hear how God is moving in the communities we are visiting. We know that God's faithfulness has been evident to many people in many different parts of the world, it is our desire to learn as much as possible from those that we meet.

The plan is to leave Steinbach, MB, Canada on April 28th. We'll drive straight south to our first destination, Seminole, Texas. We are eager to be connecting with the Seminole MEC and participating in some volunteer work. After a few days we'll continue driving south through Mexico to the country of Belize. In Belize we plan on sharing in King's College (High School) while also connecting with several different churches in hopes that we can encourage the youth. Then we will retrace our steps and aim to arrive back in Canada on May 13th.

We need your help. We know that we can't do this trip alone. We're looking for people who will commit to pray for us. We would love if you would lift up your prayer to God in the following:

- We seriously want our time with the different communities to be worthwhile, please pray that God will bless the friendships that we make and will speak through our witness.
- Please pray that God will keep us safe as we travel and cross international borders.
- Pray, that each person may grow spiritually as an individual as well as for the group as a whole

We can't wait to see what God has in store for us on this trip. The anticipation is great as we think about the potential a trip like this has.

May God Bless You In All That You Do!!

So here we are, still preparing for our trip down to Belize and Texas.  Anticipation rises as we await the departing date.  God bless

Setting the Vision

Well, we're in the middle of preparing for one of the longest road trips any of us have ever been apart of. We don't know what this will hold but we are very excited to see what God is going to do through us and in us. Our vision is to love and encourage everyone that we come in contact with. We are a bunch of friends from Steinbach Bible College (www.sbcollege.ca) looking to see what faith looks like in real life. The plan is to start driving in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada and travel down to Seminole, Texas. After a few days spent encouraging our brothers and sisters we plan to continue down to Belize and meet with our brother Armando. We calculate that the round trip back to Steinbach will be over 7000 miles (11830 km)!
